Things to Do
Please note, Users are responsible for ensuring their activities fall within the rules and operations of their respective organisations.
Scout users should refer to POR when planning their activities.
At the Centre
Pioneering
We have Pioneering Poles available on site.
Please note however we do not supply ropes, block, tackle etc.
Camp Fire
We have a dedicated Camp Fire circle with seating behind the house.
Wood is only available from maintenance activities on site so we cannot always guarantee a suitable supply. We can however put you in contact with a local supplier if needed.
In Crafnant Valley
Llyn Crafnant
Shake off the cobwebs and stretch your legs with an easy, flat walk around Llyn Crafnant and enjoy the spectacular views. You will be able to look at Cornel from the other side and wave at anyone who’s stayed behind on site.
At the right time of year you may see some wild ponies and in the spring you will be stunned by the vibrancy of the bluebells.
Tea Rooms
Maybe one for adults who want to escape for a couple of hours. A short walk back along the lake towards the forestry car park is a café serving tea, coffee and cake.
Klondike Mines
A good way to fill half a day, you can go and see the remains of Klondike Mine workings. With it’s own contentious history it is a point of local interest that will appeal to older and younger sections alike.

Gorge Walking
Correctly experienced and qualified Groups can Gorge Walk from the Klondike Mine up to Llyn Geirionydd
Climbing and Abseiling
A number of natural tope-rope climbs and abseils are listed in local climbing guidebooks.
